We are a consumer-focused service that helps people find out whether they may have a legal claim, and connects them with attorneys who can evaluate it properly. That is the whole of what we do.
We are not a law firm
HowMuchIsMyClaim.com does not practice law. We do not provide legal advice or legal services, we do not represent anyone in a legal matter, and nothing on this site is advice about your situation.
Using this site does not create an attorney–client relationship. That happens only when you sign a written agreement directly with a law firm. Until then, no attorney is acting for you or watching your deadlines — which is a real reason not to wait.
Why we exist
Most people who are hurt in an accident never speak to an attorney. Not because they have no claim, but because they assume they do not, or they think the process will cost them money they do not have, or they simply do not know where to begin. Meanwhile the insurance company on the other side has known exactly what it was doing since the day the claim was opened.
That imbalance is the problem we set out to chip away at. Finding out whether you may have a claim should take a couple of minutes and cost nothing, and it should not require you to already know the answer.

How we make money
We think you should know this before you use the site, so here it is plainly.
The service is free to you. We are paid by the law firms, attorney networks, and legal marketing partners in our network. When you submit your information and it looks like you may have a claim, we pass that information to one or more of them, and they pay us for the connection. They may then contact you about your potential claim.
Two consequences worth being explicit about. First, under California law and the law of several other states, what we do counts as a sale or sharing of your personal information — and you have the right to opt out of it. Second, attorneys join our network by paying to do so; that is the only requirement. We do not vet, rate, or rank them, and being connected with one is not a judgment that they are the right attorney for you. You are free to hire anyone you like, or nobody at all.

We tell you plainly what happens to your information, because sharing it with attorneys is the service — not a side effect of it. You can opt out of that sharing at any time.
