Why this page exists

When you submit your information through HowMuchIsMyClaim.com, we share it with third-party attorneys and legal marketing partners who pay us for it, so that they can contact you about your potential claim.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and under the privacy laws of several other states, that counts as a “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information. Those laws give you the right to tell us to stop, and this page is how you do it.

We would rather explain that plainly than hide it. Our Privacy Policy sets out the full picture.

What opting out does

If you opt out, we will stop selling or sharing your personal information with third parties for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

What it does mean:

• We stop passing your information to attorneys and legal marketing partners
• We stop sharing it with advertising platforms for targeted advertising
• We will not discriminate against you for opting out — no different price, no worse service

What it does not mean:

• It does not delete information we already hold. If you want deletion, make a deletion request instead — email privacy@howmuchismyclaim.com.
• It does not reach back to third parties who already received your information before you opted out. Those parties hold it under their own privacy policies, and you will need to contact them directly. We will tell you who they were if you ask.
• It does not stop communications you have separately consented to receive from us. To stop those, reply STOP to any text, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email privacy@howmuchismyclaim.com.
• It does not stop us using your information for the internal purposes the law still permits, such as security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

If you opt out, we may no longer be able to connect you with an attorney — connecting you is the sharing. That is not a penalty; it is simply what the service consists of.

Who can use this page

Anyone. California residents have an express statutory right to opt out, and residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Utah and other states have comparable rights. We extend this mechanism to everyone regardless of where they live.

An authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf. We may ask for written proof of their authority, and we may ask you to confirm it directly.

We also honour recognised opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where the law requires it.

What happens next

We will confirm we received your request, and we may need to verify your identity before acting on it — usually by matching the details you give us against our records. That verification step is required by law, and it protects you: it stops someone else making a request in your name.

We will action verified requests within the timeframe your state’s law requires. In California that is 15 business days for an opt-out request. If we cannot verify or cannot action your request, we will tell you why, and where your state provides a right of appeal, we will explain how to use it.
